I did this today

I've loved Bradley Cooper since seeing him on Alias, but I only learned his name today. And it still took forever to remember it. I've never been very good at drawing men's faces, so I started buying some men's magazines a few months ago so I could tackle that. I really hit the jackpot with the People Sexiest Man Alive! issue. I don't even mind the smell of the cologne that emanates from it.

Anyhoo, here's Bradley. Not perfect, but pretty good, methinks. It was kind of weird drawing someone I find so attractive; I felt like I actually knew him somehow. Had touched his face or something.

BTW, if someone doesn't comment soon (because I know you're out there), I'm going to start posting nothing but long sad diary entries about being alone. A threat? A promise? A warning? You decide. It's in your hands now.

ADDENDUM: Wow, seeing it backward like that (iSight takes mirror-image pictures), I can see all kinds of things I want to alter. And shadows to deepen. I'm always wary of that. Hard to erase.

Here, this is better.

I think it appears slightly slanty because of the way I'm holding it.

very nice.

it think it is amazing that you can take shades of gray (maybe from one tool) on a flat, light-colored surface and make it look not only like something, like someone.

and you got the bonus of finding a drawing aid if you don't have a mirror handy.

interesting observation of feeling like you have touched his face now. you probably have a more intimate knowledge of it than many an unobservant lover (not say this man has had many lovers, observant to otherwise)
